Rev 18:23 “And the light of a lamp will never more shine at all in you. And the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride will never more be heard at all in you. For your merchants were the great ones of the earth; for by your sorceries all nations were deceived.”
The word for ‘sorcery’ here is ‘Pharmakeia.’
Many of us think of an actual evil spirit. Other places in scripture the translated word actually is ‘witchcraft.’ During the reign and tyranny of this revised Babylon, we can see many charcteristics of her in verses leading up to this verse. Yet, she falls, God emphasizes her sorceries and the merchants who were possible peddlers of her ‘sorceries.’
Applying this to the end of this age, and the imminent return of Jesus Christ, we could speculate that a great deception will be upon the earth as the ‘pharmakeia’ leads people astray and ultimately is worshipped through the mass’s unwavering obedience to its doctrines.
As I see it, ‘Big Pharma’ is a Giant in the land as we recall scripture reminding us that the last days will be like the ‘Days of Noah’ where ‘giants’ were in the land. As anxiety and fear escalate, we will see people worship these entities. Whatever we bow down to, we worship. Our nation and world have just spent a year preparing for these coming days to be ushered in and upon the world.
America must be destroyed, but because of the vast foundation of Christianity across our great nation, the enemy must be manipulative and cunning in his advances as to deceive people that they are still following Christ. But in essence , these people are houses divided between The God and a god of this world.
While the COVID vaccine is probably not the mark of the beast, it has opened a door of allegiance and capitulation of the churches and Christians (at least church attendees) to shut up, stay home and lock down. Thus, we marginalize our faith and covenants with God and each other. God says do not forsake the gathering of one unto another. We say, ‘unless we are scared to die!’ Or, we decide to bow to ‘Caesar’ rather than God???
The Big Pharmakeia might ultimately work with the Antichrist to ‘medicate’ us with a ‘mark’ of vaccination to ‘keep us safe.’ They will only be thinking of our safety. Maybe this ‘new’ virus will be much more deadly than COVID? And they already use peer pressure and the woke bullying to pit citizen against citizen in an attempt to cause chaos and panic. Civil liberties are threatened, and our forefathers anticipated a regime would someday attempt this coup insurrection over America. But they couldn’t see that a virus would be the catalyst for people to give up their freedom. And I haven’t even talked about the perfect storm of violence, hatred, open borders, fiscal corruption and sexual perversity and moral depravity sweeping our nation.
I do not believe that it is just mere circumstances that scripture talks about ‘Pharmakeia’ in the last days and the current pandemic of the virus, fear and chaos. Because people are walking in fear and not faith, we have subjugated our authority in the spiritual realm, and evil has filled that vacuum with evil that spews forth from its pawns in the administration, in education, in Marxism, in Hollywood, in professional sports and across our nation as we watch our freedoms, our relationships, God’s truth, our cities, our livelihoods and people’s faith be burned to the ground.
The remnant Church who are faithful and true to His calling through obedience and love, must rise up and be a counter-culture to this Luciferian wave of evil. Our battle is against the spiritual forces of evil that are perpetuating a diabolical plan. But, that does not mean we don’t address the evil on the streets and in action across our nation from the highest position to the most hidden back alley.
The good news is that Christ has already won our war. Our job is to remain faithfully in the midst of His truth and will through the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
And, although we may suffer for a little while, He is returning soon for His Bride that remained undefiled by the things of the world. Until that day, we continue to fight, continue to occupy, continue to preach/teach/release the power of the gospel.
